FACTURAE
This is the standard format in Spain. It is a XML document whose data structure has been defined by the Ministry/Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade together with the Ministry/Department of Economics and Treasure.
As established by the Law 30/2007 about Electronic Contracts, from October 10th 2010 every company that works with the Spanish public administration (central government, regional governments, city councils and province councils) must issue invoices in facturae format. For big companies this obligation began last August 1st.

UBL INVOICE
This is the international standard defined by OASIS. In this case the invoice is only one more document among the more than 31 business documents included in UBL (orders, delivery notes, purchase orders, etc.).
It is widespread used at a world level and it is seen as the de facto standard in international transactions.
